Doctoral students Andre Perkoski, Amanda Provost, Geena Taite, Youngjun Kim, and Elise Lahiere gave a talk entitled Exposing Pre-service Teachers to Mathematical Modeling to Enhance Student Learning Opportunities, which described the design and implementation of two sessions for pre-service teachers on mathematical modeling. This presentation was prepared for an audience of coaches, teacher leaders, and teacher educators, and shared the design choices for the sessions, the benefits of mathematical modeling for engaging students in mathematics, and suggestions for design of future experiences with pre-service teachers.
Congratulations to this group of ambitious and talented doctoral students!
