Newly renovated and expanded Mallory Hall will open by fall 2018. A $22.95 million project is transforming the 52-year-old, 34,400-square-foot building into a 43,800-square-foot, high-tech computer sciences center.

“The new state-of-the-art facility will be a hub for cutting-edge computer science research, an incubator for technology and innovation and a home for one of the University’s fastest growing majors,” says College of Science and Mathematics Dean Lora Billings. “Students and faculty alike will be able to experiment and create in open work areas, labs and classrooms that promote teamwork and active learning.”

The building will boast a new fourth floor, as well as new classrooms, faculty offices, meeting spaces, student study and project spaces, and specialized research spaces. Its exterior will mirror the iconic Mission style of its original sister building, Schmitt Hall.

According to Vice President for University Facilities Shawn Connolly, work on the building is on schedule and under budget and will be completed by late July and ready for move-in in August.
