Guests on Campus Captivate Audiences
Every year, Montclair State hosts high-profile speakers who share their ideas, research, art and other achievements with students, faculty and staff.
By the end of February, the University had hosted a variety of interesting guests, including NPR's Marketplace Morning Report host David Brancaccio, who visited the School of Business to discuss the do-it-yourself economy, and United States Senator Cory Booker, who stopped by campus for an impromptu meeting with students in February to discuss issues facing the state and country and to share some pizza and selfie time.
In October, groundbreaking choreographer Richard Alston, whose work Unfinished Business at the Kasser was named the top dance performance of 2013 by The New York Times, returned to the Kasser Theater for the venue's 10th Anniversary Gala. Author Eldar Shafir visited campus in September to discuss this year's Montclair Book, Scarcity: Why Having Too Little Matters So Much. In December, former New Jersey Governor James E. McGreevey came to campus as part of a panel discussion on the challenges of criminal justice reform.
Bill Cowher and James Brown of CBS Studio 43 appeared at the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center to talk football, while Lou Holtz, one of the two winningest coaches in Notre Dame history, also appeared at the Center in September.
