Student's Short Film Shows at Cannes
Montclair State film student Jamison M. LoCascio’s film, Track 3, was a Festival de Cannes selection in the short film category during the 2014 festival.
LoCascio, currently a standout film student, has had previous films shown at the Manhattan Film Festival, the New Jersey International Film Festival and the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival.
Track 3 tells the story of two estranged sisters attempting to board the last train out of their city in the midst of a viral epidemic. When he finished the film, he knew it was special, LoCascio says.
“We hit the ground running in the festival circuit and decided that we should try to go as big as possible. We really believe in the work we did,” he says. “We look forward to continuing our push to get Track 3 on as many screens as we can.”
In addition to Cannes, Track 3 was also an official selection of the Palm Springs International Film Festival 2014.
This is not the first Montclair State student selection at the Festival de Cannes. Last year, film student Jenna Leung ’13 also showed at Cannes with her short film, Folded Hope, which she both wrote and directed.
