From the President
This past spring, Montclair State received nearly $94 million in public funding from the State, including resources from New Jersey’s historic $750-million Building Our Future Bond Act – the first such funding support for higher education construction projects in 25 years.
Thanks to the leadership and support of the governor, the legislature and New Jersey voters, the University is poised to begin construction on projects that will enhance our campus and allow us to provide outstanding opportunities to our students, attract top-notch faculty and partner with New Jersey businesses. Construction of the 108,000-square-foot, $55-million Center for Environmental and Life Sciences will expand the University’s research infrastructure in these fields by over 50 percent. The new 143,000-square-foot, $66-million School of Business building will replace the current outdated facility with a high-tech home that will include a trading floor and new headquarters for the Feliciano Center for Entrepreneurship.
The University’s reputation continues to grow, and this year we will extend our reach to new audiences in New Jersey and beyond with an inspired branding campaign – It’s all here – telling the story of the top-quality educational experience available for an exceptional value here at Montclair State. It is our way of sharing what our students, alumni and supporters already know about the benefits of this extraordinary institution, while at the same time building the University’s regional and national profile.
In these pages, you will find other examples of our commitment to helping students build bright futures, from career-building internships to exciting new international partnerships.
None of these exciting initiatives would be possible without your gifts and donations, as state funding and student tuition only cover a part of our annual operating and capital needs. On behalf of our students and faculty, I want to thank you for your investment in the future of our university and for keeping Montclair State the opportunity institution we have always been and will continue to be.
