EBSCO Faculty Select is a new resource from Montclair State University Libraries that gives you access to free open course materials and low cost library-licensed resources for your courses.
Faculty Select supports textbook affordability for college students. Using a single interface, faculty can search for quality Open Educational Resources (OER) and DRM-free* eBooks from top academic publishers.
(This link is for faculty only)
The Faculty Select database includes:
- OER
- Textbook links from multiple OER repositories. This content may be freely repurposed and edited to fit your course.
- Open Access eBooks
- These are free eBooks that may be adopted for your course in their original form.
- eBooks available for purchase from the following collections:
- Cambridge University Press
- EBSCO
- Taylor & Francis
- Wiley
Once you identify a title that is of interest, you can evaluate the book and decide if it is something you want to adopt.
In the case of OER, you are provided a link to include in your course. In the case of a book not yet owned by the library, you submit a purchase request. That request is routed to a library staff member who can review and complete the order and notify the faculty member when the book is ready to be included in their course.
*DRM-free eBooks provide unlimited access to users without Digital Rights Management restrictions on printing, downloading, copying, or saving.
