Looking for a specific book, but can’t find it in the Library Catalog? You can still access it using Interlibrary Services! Interlibrary Services are completely free, and are available to all Montclair State University faculty, staff, grad and undergrad students.

If a search in our library catalog for your book brings up a banner prompting you to “expand your search to libraries worldwide”, click that link to find what other libraries have the book available. Once you find the edition of the book you want, you can click “Check Availability” to find the “Request item through Interlibrary Loan” button.

Checking out journal articles, book chapters and dissertations for research is just as easy! Our Interlibrary Services page outlines the process step by step for each type of item. Just keep in mind that most textbooks, archival items and some overseas items are excluded from ILL due to availability. If your request is denied, you can contact the ILL department for additional options.

If you have any more questions, be sure to check out the Interlibrary Services page linked above. Take advantage of this service whenever you need it!
