Multimedia Department Announces New Collaborative Spaces!
Posted in: Homepage Features
The Multimedia Department located on the lower level of Harry A. Sprague Library has renovated existing group study rooms to create three new collaborative spaces equipped with Sony 4K 65 inch flat screen TVs with remote control, Polycom cameras, and tabletop Crestron controller pads that allow you to connect and display (using HDMI, VGA, and other cables) a variety of devices or choose to use the main computer. Air Media is available in all three rooms, enabling patrons to wirelessly connect to the system as well as wirelessly share the desktop screen from any Windows, MacOS, iOS, or Android device. In order to do this, you need to download the free Crestron AirMedia app onto your device. For your convenience, a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse are also available (for use with the main computer). The primary purpose of the collaborative spaces is for students to work on group assignments, media projects (using Adobe Creative Suite and other provided software), and/or video conference (with the pre-loaded Zoom app) with their peers using one of the installed Polycom cameras. Each collaborative space has a white board with markers and erasers to assist with group work. If you need to create photo images for your group project, please check out our new Photo Studio.
