Bloomfield Library Catalog Merges into University Libraries’ System
Posted in: Homepage Features
In a significant step towards resource consolidation and enhanced accessibility, the Bloomfield College Library’s catalog has been successfully integrated into the University Libraries catalog system, creating a one-stop book and media searching tool for both library branches. This project, aimed at unifying the resources of the two institutions, provides a seamless experience for all of our library users.
The migration process involved the careful transfer and reorganization of thousands of records from the Bloomfield College Library catalog. This endeavor ensures that students, faculty and staff from both campuses, as well as the general public, will benefit from streamlined access to a comprehensive collection of books, media, and more.
How to Search the Library Catalog
New Feature!
As both library’s books and media collections are now integrated into one system, you will notice a new filter on the left-hand side allowing you to select which campus library you would like to search. Alternatively you can search the default, “Montclair State University”, which contains items from both libraries.
If you have any further questions about how to use the newly merged library catalog, please reach out to the front desk at 973-655-4288 or circreserves@montclair.edu.
