Welcome to University Libraries

As part of the merger between Montclair and Bloomfield, we are proud to announce a name change that reflects the emergence of a two-library system. In name and in spirit, Sprague Library and the Bloomfield College Library will be one entity collectively known as Montclair State University Libraries, dedicated to providing excellent library services at both campus locations for all library users – students, staff, faculty, alumni, community members, and the general public. While our name is new, the services we provide to both campuses continue to grow and improve. Here are just a few:

When you need a fast response to your research questions, professional academic librarians are on standby 24/7. These dedicated librarians offer expertise in navigating our resources and can provide guidance tailored to your specific research needs. Users from both campuses can access University Libraries’ chat services online from anywhere with Internet connectivity.

EZBorrow

EZBorrow is a FAST interlibrary lending solution that lets students, faculty & staff affiliated with participating institutions to request, and obtain physical library resources (e.g. books, media), from a vast network of colleges & universities.You can directly request books we don’t own through the library’s online catalog.

Online Journals & Articles

Our combined collections contain over 250 databases, with tens of thousands of journals that students, faculty, and staff on both campuses can access. If you are seeking peer-reviewed studies, historical documents, or the latest advancements in your field, we’re here to provide the information you seek.

KanopyBASE Video Collection

Kanopy BASE is a multidisciplinary collection of over 10,000 streaming films, documentaries and television series. They range from core curricular subjects like Race and Class Studies, Sociology and Education, to subjects that cater to the whole student like Mental Health, Psychology and Health and Fitness.

Booking a study space to spend time on your homework or projects with added privacy, or with a small group of classmates at either of the University Libraries’ locations couldn’t be easier.
