Apply now to participate in a virtual international internship opportunity in
Argentina, Chile or Costa Rica with Academics Programs International (API).
Dr. Sharon Foerster, a Montclair State alumna, will offer multiple scholarships to first-generation students majoring in Language, Business & Culture, Spanish concentration. She tells us that international internships are so valuable because
- It is one of the best ways to acquire intercultural communication skills, build relationships and broaden your understanding of other cultures that will prepare you for working in a globalized world.
- The experience promotes intellectual curiosity, cultural sensitivity, personal growth as you become more flexible, adaptable, self-aware and confident. Being curious is such an asset for a cultural explorer.
- An internship with a foreign organization differentiates you from other job candidates.
The internship features designated supervisor/mentor in the host country, orientations, guided skill development and academic credit (3 credits, based on 20 hours/week for 8 weeks), in addition to a one-week stay in the host country (airfare and accommodations covered up to $2,000). Some of the fields are Business & Management, Marketing, Communication & Media, Computer Science, Environment, Hospitality, and Tourism.
