The MONDAY AQUATIC PROGRAM (MAP) is an instructional aquatic program designed to meet individual needs of people with disabilities. The aquatic environment is used as an educational experience for both people with disabilities and college interns. The interns are responsible for teaching people with disabilities throughout the semester. This experience provides the interns with the opportunity to apply class theory in a practical situation. The MAP supervisor provides daily feedback to enhance the teaching abilities of the interns. Reflective assignments are also completed by the interns throughout the semester in order for them to analyze their own development.

The MAP runs throughout the academic year, which is divided into (2) two semesters, fall and spring. Students from the undergraduate Adapted Physical Education class staff the various instructional one-hour periods running from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Mondays. For more information about the program please contact Dr. Melissa Alexander at alexanderm@montclair.edu.
