Students Andrew Van Varick ’19; Krystelle Pring, Artist’s Diploma ’20; and Hyeri Choi ’19 were recently awarded the national Service Playing Certificate by the American Guild of Organists. The Guild was chartered in 1896 to administer a comprehensive series of examinations for professional certification, and maintains the standards for professional North American organists with a comprehensive series of examinations for professional certification.
To achieve the Service Playing Certificate, applicants must pass a rigorous exam demonstrating their ability to play organ repertoire, choral accompaniments, hymns, transposition and sight-reading.
We congratulate these students and their instructor, John Miller, on this great accomplishment.
