Following their successful concert collaboration last year, Van Vleck House & Gardens and Montclair State University announced a series of five new Sunday concerts, beginning on October 20.

Following their successful concert collaboration last year, the Cali School and Van Vleck House & Gardens are offering a series of five new Sunday concerts, beginning on October 20.

Our faculty, students and visiting artists perform at the Van Vleck property, with all concerts open to the public with no charge for admission.

The first concert of this season will feature a program of original works for classical guitar by modern American composers, performed by faculty member and classical guitarist Loren C. Fortna.  The program is called “American Rhapsody,” which consists of pieces by living guitarist-composers that “fuse modernisms with hints of ragtime, show tunes, impressionism, and bluegrass.”

Additional concerts in this series are scheduled for November 3, February 23, March 23 and April 13, all Sundays at 2 pm.

Reserved seating is available by contacting 973-744-4752 or info@vanvleck.org. Seating is limited, so reservations are required.  Previous concerts have over-subscribed. There is no admission charge, but contributions are welcome.
