Friday Performance of “Nine” Cancelled – Snow Date Performance Monday

Posted in: Cali News

A collaboration between Montclair State University’s Department of Theatre and Dance and the John J. Cali School of Music, the award-winning musical Nine will be performed February 8-10 in the Jed Leshowitz Recital Hall.

The Tony-award-winning Nine, based on Federico Fellini’s masterpiece 8½, tells the story of Guido Contini, a famous Italian film director who’s turning 40 and facing a double crisis. He is out of ideas for the film he is shooting and his wife, Luisa, has threatened to leave him. The score by Maury Yeston includes Be Italian, Folies Bergere and Unusual Way.

The production features musical direction and new orchestrations by Prof. Gregory J. Dlugos, of the Cali School, and is directed and choreographed by Asst. Prof. Joe Joyce, of the Department of Theatre and Dance.

The performances are free and show times are as follows:

  • February 9: 8 p.m.
  • February 10: 3 and 8 p.m.
  • February 11: 8 pm
