Double Bass Master Class – 1/13 CANCELLED

Posted in: Cali News

The master class with Jurek Dybal has been cancelled. Mr. Dybal has
had to delay his trip to the United States. We hope to reschedule this event.

A Double Bass Master Class will be held at Cali School of Music in  Chapin 201
on Wednesday, January 13, 2010, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Master
Class is free and open to the public, and will feature Jurek Dybal, double
bassist from the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, as guest clinician.

Jurek Dybal was born in Poland and graduated with distinction from the
Chopin Academy. He performed with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra,
the Varsovia Symphony Orchestra, and the Munich Philharmonic before
becoming a member of the bass section of the Vienna Philharmonic
Orchestra in 2006.

The Master Class will take place in Room 201 of the Cali School of Music in
Chapin Hall. Chapin Hall is located on the Right just inside the main entrance
to the MSU campus on Normal Avenue, a few hundred yards from the corner of
Normal Avenue & Valley Road. After turning into the main entrance off Normal
Avenue, (you will pass Chapin Hall on your Right), continue driving straight and
park in the Red Hawk Parking Deck, then walk back one block to the Cali School
of Music in Chapin Hall. Take the elevator to the second floor for the Master Class
in Room 201. Performers will be Cali School double bassists Nathanial White,
Rachel Hershy, and Christopher Spendley, who will play selections from Bottesini,
Bach, and Handel.
