ITDS is happy to announce that we have new workshop offerings that will be offered throughout the Fall semester, starting the week of August 15!
Strategies to Design and Facilitate Effective Teamwork
Teamwork has become a very important component for student learning. In this workshop we will introduce how to design and facilitate effective teamwork, how to improve the overall team dynamics, as well as how to build individual accountability. The pedagogical strategies and technologies to assess teamwork will also be discussed.
Using Mind Maps to Increase Student Understanding & Engagement
Mind mapping is an effective strategy to visually organize and analyze information and can be a method to help students understand more complex concepts in your course. This strategy is fantastic for content analysis and is proven to increase higher-order thinking, engagement, and recall amongst students. Join us as we discuss mind mapping structure, learner benefits, and explore three free digital mind-mapping tools: Miro, Mural, and Padlet.
Present to Engage: Developing More Engaging Presentations
We all want to increase student engagement in our courses, but how can we accomplish this task? Join us for a look at the different ways we can make our in-person and online lectures more engaging, from presentation design and aesthetics to lecture pacing strategy and tool implementation.
