Dr. Fiore’s Research (Summer and Fall 2013)

Dr. Teresa Fiore presented at a panel at NYU, was selected as Visiting Fellow at the CEMS (NYU) and invited to join a journal’s editorial board

1. Presentation on migration in the Mediterranean (NYU School of Law, June 2013)

Focused on the issue of migrants crossing the Mediterranean and their representation in film, documentary and theater plays, Fiore’s presentation was part of a panel on the contemporary politics of integration and multiculturalism entitled “European and American Perspectives on Immigration Policy and National Identity.” For details, visit the NYU webpage.

2.  Affiliation with the CEMS at NYU as Visiting Fellow

For the fourth consecutive year, the Center for European and Mediterranean Studies at New York University has selected Dr. Fiore as a Visiting Fellow. From Sept. 2013 to Aug. 2014 she will carry out her research projects on migration from/to Italy with the assistance of the NYU library resources and services and as part of an interdisciplinary group of scholars. 3. Invitation to join the editorial board of a new online journal

gender/sexuality/Italy is a new online annual, peer-reviewed journal that publishes research on gendered identities and the ways they produce and intersect with Italian politics, culture, and society. For details, visit the journal’s webpage.
