Summer 2018 Italian Intensive Course for College Credit
Posted in: Inserra
We are pleased to announce the 2018 edition of the Summer Italian Intensive Course for College Credit (July 23-Aug. 9) offered to high school students of the Tri-state area at Montclair State University through the Italian Program (MLL), Summer Session, and Early College, in association with a consortium of NJ high schools and with the support of the Inserra Chair Endowment and IACE.
For full information see WEBSITE, VIDEO and FLYER.
Through classroom activities, guest speakers’ talks, and field trips, the program aims to consolidate rising senior students’ intermediate Italian skills on their way to an advanced level, including AP classes and the AP exam. Students earn 3 credits in 3 weeks for a fee of only $750 (and scholarships are available!).
This collaborative project, which brings together high school teachers and university professors in the design and implementation of the course, is a tool to encourage the study of Italian language and culture along the HS-college continuum, and thus promote Italian Studies as a discipline at large.
