A unique opportunity to view a rare, restored silent film, Dagli Appennini alle Ande/From the Apennines to the Andes by Umberto Paradisi (1916), with an original score performed live by Marco Cappelli and Chris Opperman (Cali School of Music).

Adapted from Edmondo De Amicis’ classic book Cuore (1886), the film will be the point of departure for the introductory lecture by Prof. Jacqueline Reich (Stony Brook University) about the Italian cinematic production focusing on the transatlantic voyage of Italian emigrants in the early 20th century.
