Microsoft Defender is our cloud-based security platform that helps protect devices from cyberattacks. It runs in the background actively keeping an eye out for malware. It will automatically quarantine and report any threats as they are discovered.

A scheduled scan of your device will run on Tuesdays at 10am. This scan runs in the background and should not affect computer performance.
