The Global Center on Human Trafficking is committed to the ethical and equal engagement of lived experience professionals in anti-trafficking policy, research and practice.

In an effort to fulfill this commitment and ensure that individuals with lived experience are ethically and equitably engaged in the anti-trafficking community, the GCHT has created the Lived Experience Anti-Trafficking Professional Partnership Program (LEAPP). LEAPP facilitates collaboration between lived experience professionals and the anti-trafficking field. LEAPP is a space where lived experience professionals from across the United States and the anti-trafficking field can partner in a sustainable, ethical, and inclusive manner.

LEAPP offers your organization the opportunity to work alongside human trafficking lived experience professionals in an equal, ethical, and sustainable manner. As a result of partnering with lived experienced professionals, your organization will:

In partnership with lived experience experts, we will provide a unique perspective on the vulnerabilities that make individuals susceptible to trafficking in this 1.5 hour workshop. Learn how to recognize these vulnerabilities, understand their dynamics, and discover the red flags that may signal someone is at risk. Together, we will explore actionable steps that all of us can take to combat and prevent this pervasive issue.

Additionally, our survivor advocates will share essential insights on the support survivors need as they exit the world of trafficking. Discover how we can collectively build a more compassionate and equitable support system for those on their healing journey as they build new lifes post-exit.

Human trafficking is a heinous crime that occurs in virtually every community across the United States–from large urban cities to suburbs to small towns and villages. Survivors and victims of human trafficking report visiting libraries to use the wifi, computers, or bathrooms or for the quiet safe spaces they offer, but no one noticed the signs that they were being trafficked.

This 1.5 hour, introductory training by experts and lived experience professionals from the Global Center on Human Trafficking seeks to empower libraries to be part of the fight against human trafficking.

• How do I recognize the signs?
• What is the appropriate response if you suspect human trafficking?
• How can libraries safely and responsibly address human trafficking?

This 2 hour workshop delves into the vital intersection of human trafficking and the healthcare industry. Many survivors of human trafficking report having sought out medical assistance during their trafficking situation. With this knowledge, we know healthcare professionals are in a prime position to identify and assist survivors and victims of human trafficking.

The workshop will provide participants with the crucial tools and knowledge to identify, address, and support potential trafficking victims within their care. Join us to discover how the healthcare sector can become a frontline defense against trafficking and play a pivotal role in the protection and healing of those affected by this grave issue.

This 1.5hr training explores the history of the disability community in the United States, and how human trafficking affects it’s community. We will also unveil the tactics of human traffickers use, shedding light on how they target persons with disabilities, their recruitment techniques, and means of maintaining control. In collaboration with lived experienced experts, we offer a unique perspective on the vulnerabilities that render persons with disabilities susceptible to trafficking, and the barriers victims face self identifying and exiting their trafficking situations.

• Learn how to assess their services, locations, and programs to improve accessibility, equitability, diversity and inclusion
• Explore prevention of explotiation and trafficking within disability community

The Global Center on Human Trafficking works to train law enforcement at the local, state, federal level. As conveners of the “National Expert Working Group on Improving and Understanding Investigations of Human Trafficking”, our trainings are survivor-informed and integrate best practices as identified by leading law enforcement experts across the country.

The Blue Safe Space Program works to provide a safe environment for anti-trafficking advocacy, support, and connecting individuals to the appropriate resources.The primary goal of the Blue Safe Space Program is to prevent human trafficking by raising awareness of the issue of human trafficking and to connect potential victims to appropriate resources and support.

This program consists of two components:
1) Completion of the Blue Safe Space 3-Hour Training
2) Signed Contract Agreeing to the Roles and Responsibilities of a Blue Safe Space Ambassador
