Employee Relations

Employee Relations provides the necessary resources to assist University personnel with navigating the various labor employment agreements, employment policies, and procedures which help drive the success of the human capital experience at Montclair State University. The goal of Employee Relations is to promote a harmonious work environment where all employees are able to succeed and thrive professionally while preserving the University’s core values and mission. The Employee Relations team uses a proactive approach to focus on the amicable resolution of disputes and professional development.

Labor Relations

The Labor Relations team is dedicated to fostering collaborative and constructive partnerships between the University and its unionized workforce to advance Montclair State University’s mission as a leading public research institution.

Labor Relations serves as a strategic resource for interpreting and administering collective bargaining agreements, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and supporting departments in managing labor-related matters. The team provides guidance on contract negotiations, grievance resolution, disciplinary processes, and labor-management communications to ensure consistent and fair application of workplace practices.

With a focus on proactive engagement and issue resolution, Labor Relations strives to promote a respectful, inclusive, and high-performing work environment where all employees can contribute meaningfully to the University’s success.
