Part-time employees may be eligible to enroll in a State-administered pension program and the Part-Time State Health Benefits Program (SHBP).
Medical Plan Eligibility
Employees not eligible for the Affordable Care Act (ACA):
- Part-time employees who are members of a New Jersey State administered pension program
- Your legal spouse
- Your same sex domestic or Civil Union partner
- Children up to age 26
- Must pay the full monthly premium
- Part-time employees may also be eligible for the same medical and prescription coverage via the Affordable Care Act (ACA)
When Medical Plan Coverage Begins
- Benefits are effective after two months of continuous employment
- Coverage continues as long as the monthly premiums are paid

- Preferred Provider Organization (PPO)
- Preferred provider organization plans administered by Horizon
- Tiered Network (TN)
- Tiered network plans administered by Horizon

1.Visit nj.gov/treasury/pensions
2. Click on Access Benefitsolver
3. Click on Register
4. Enter the requested registration information
5. Confirm your new password, then click “continue” to return to this page and login to Benefitsolver.
