Hiring Manager: Dr. David Dong, Senior Assistant Dean for Educational and Community Engagement
Total Hours: 200
Project Stipend: $5000
Project Overview / Project Goals and Objectives
The College for Education and Engaged Learning (CEEL) at Montclair State University has formed the CEEL Center Consortium, bringing together six centers under one coordinated structure: the ADP Center for Learning Technologies, the Ben Samuels Children’s Center, the Center for Education, Innovation, and Strategic Partnerships, the Center for Autism and Early Childhood Mental Health, the Center for Student Success and Educator Excellence, and the Center for Research and Evaluation on Education and Human Services. This Consortium aims to streamline services, foster collaboration between centers and academic departments, and expand community partnerships.
To further these goals, a Graduate Assistant (GA) will develop a Service Index capturing each center’s primary services, programs, and resources.
The Service Index will act as a centralized, user-friendly reference that promotes synergy among the centers, highlights collective opportunities for student success and professional development, and helps external partners quickly identify available support. The GA will conduct in-depth interviews with center directors and staff, gather relevant documents, and compile findings into a cohesive, clearly formatted guide. This resource will assist the CEEL Center Consortium in achieving a shared vision and in showcasing the collective benefits it offers students, faculty, and community stakeholders.
Currently, there is no index or understanding of what the centers do—they provide more than 50 different types of services and some operates with large budget and grant (for example, the Center for Autism and Early Childhood Mental Health operates services more than $1 million in FY23, and the Center for Research and Evaluation on Education and Human Services revenue was more than $1 million too).
Responsibilities and Key Deliverables
Under the supervision of CEEL leadership, the GA will interview directors and staff from the six centers, carefully record and organize information about each center’s mission, target audiences, community partnerships, and resources. The GA will draft, refine, and finalize the Service Index, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and clarity. A written summary of key recommendations for enhancing or expanding inter-center collaboration will supplement the Index, guiding future planning and joint programming initiatives.
