Updated 7/18 – Notice of Electrical Testing July 21
Posted in: CHCP Updates, Construction News
As we approach full operation of our new electrical generation plant, there are a series of tests we must perform leading up to commercial operation.
The most significant is the electrical interlock testing that we have scheduled for Sunday, July 21. This phase of the testing will involve the complete loss of electrical power on campus at least two times during the test, and for up to two hours each time. Buildings that have emergency diesel power will be transferred to that source. Buildings that do not have any emergency power will be without power for up to two hours, at least two times during the day.
The first outage will begin between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. on July 21. The second outage will follow the testing procedure but will likely occur mid-day. The performance of these tests is critical to the successful commissioning of the new Montclair District Energy System and power plant.
Please take appropriate action to secure computers and other electronic equipment, if necessary, in advance of the power outages.
**Please note: Because of the power outages, the Red Hawk Diner will be closed on Sunday, July 21.**
We apologize for the inconvenience.
