University Facilities Fetes Departing AVP Carey
Posted in: Facilities Updates
Associate Vice President for Facilities Services, Timothy R. Carey EdD, was recognized for his 27-year career at Montclair State University with a farewell reception at Dickson Hall on March 13. Well-wishers from the Facilities division and the campus community attended the celebration to offer thanks, gifts and good luck to Dr. Carey, who has accepted a position as Associate Vice President/Chief Facilities Officer at Ithaca College.
During his nearly three-decades of outstanding service at Montclair State University, Dr. Carey rose through the ranks to become head of the Facilities Services department, where he oversaw the overall operation of the Grounds, Housekeeping, Mail and Receiving, Move and Waste Management, Parking and Transportation Services units. Noteworthy achievements include: an increase in service levels and standards- including the implementation of Service Level Agreements with campus customers; the automation of business processes/services, especially within the Parking, Transportation and Mail units; and an increase in certification, training and education requirements for all levels of staff. Dr. Carey was very appreciative of all the kind words and gestures extended to him during his final days on campus. Special thanks go to Adeline Nino and Mariella Diaz for their coordination of the party and the divisional gift.
