Welcome Freshman and Returning Students
Posted in: Fire Safety Updates
As we ready to begin the Fall 2011 semester, we are excited and enthused that our resident students are returning to campus.
We would like to welcome back those of you who are returning to our campus and, for those who are staying here for your first semester, welcome to our campus!
In your first floor meeting, during your first week here on campus, your community assistant will provide you with information regarding fire evacuation policies, procedures, and plans.
We will conduct two fire drills during the semester: the first will be within the first week that all students have moved in, the second will be unannounced and will occur later in the semester. Please note that we will never conduct a fire drill between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. If you hear an alarm during these times DO NOT ASSUME THAT IT IS A DRILL. With that said, at any time during your stay with us, please assume that all fire alarms are actual fire alarms and act appropriately. Calmly, but quickly, evacuate the building! For more information, please refer to our website for more information: Fire Safety’s Fire Evacuation Website.
If, at any time along the way, you have questions regarding fire safety, please feel free to contact us at fire@montclair.edu
On behalf of the Department of Fire Safety, we wish you a safe and enjoyable semester!
