Naomi Liebler Feted at Townsend Harris Dinner

On November 2, Naomi Liebler was awarded the prestigious Townsend Harris Medal by the City College of New York Alumni Association, for outstanding postgraduate achievement in one’s chosen professional field of endeavor. The honor was bestowed at a dinner held at the Trianon Ballroom of the New York Hilton.
Established in 1933, the Townsend Harris Medal has been awarded to an extraordinary series of CCNY alumni that numbers among its ranks Nobel Laureates, cabinet secretaries, Supreme Court Justices, writers, artists, scientists, academics, doctors, and business and labor leaders.
In winning this honor, Dr. Liebler joins a group that includes, among many other esteemed names, Felix Frankfurter, Ira Gershwin, Oscar Hijuelos, Judd Hirsch, Irving Howe, Alfred Kazin, Ed Koch, Bernard Malamud, Walter Mosley, Colin Powell, Faith Ringgold, Alfred Stieglitz, and Eli Wallach.
