New York Times Essay by Kathy Curto

Professor Kathy Curto an instructor in the English Department’s Creative Writing program, has published two new pieces on pedagogy. “The Science of Awe” appeared in the New York Times “Lessons Plans” series on February 9th. In it, Professor Curto provides extensive suggestions for teaching Hope Reese’s essay ” “How a Bit of Awe Can Improve Your Health,” using resources such as Brene Brown’s book Atlas of the Heart: Mapping Meaningful Connection and the Language of Human Experience. Professor Curto has also co-authored a new essay in the collection Diasporic Italy with colleagues Olivia Kate Cerrone and Julia Lisella, titled “Integrating Italian American Literature into the Multiethnic Syllabus.”
