Kip Shanks (B.A., English, ’20) is one of only four students awarded fully-funded admission to the three-year MFA program in Creative Writing at the University of South Carolina, where she was also awarded the James Dickey Prize in Poetry given to one new student each year. Kip won admission to all three of her prestigious graduate program choices; she decided on University of South Carolina because its large competitive program will allow her to continue her studies in literature and literary theory as well as in Creative writing. Kip also has two new poems in a collection titled Erase the Patriarchy, a book of feminist erasures and essays surrounding the #MeToo movement, to be published next month by the University of Hell Press. Bravissima, Kip; well done!
