McDiarmid’s essay “Hairpins Among the Rifles: The Domestic Site in Women’s Accounts of 1916” is also included in the collection.

Lucy McDiarmid is the author or editor of eight books, including most recently,  At Home in the Revolution: What Women Said and Did in 1916 and Poets and the Peacock Dinner: The Literary History of a Meal. She teaches in the undergraduate and graduate programs in the English Department.
