Adjunct Professor Jim Nicosia Named as a Judge for Prestigious Award

English Department adjunct professor Dr. James Nicosia was named to the Voice of Youth Advocates (VOYA) Middle School Nonfiction Honors List committee for 2018-2019. A longtime member of the department, teaching American literature, Young Adult Literature and Grammars of English, Dr. Nicosia is a writer and children’s literacy advocate. He brings best-selling critically acclaimed YA and middle grade authors to MSU each year as co-chair of the New Jersey Council of Teachers of English Spring Conference. He has reviewed manuscripts for VOYA for several years and was selected as one of five members who will determine that organization’s Top Shelf annual list of finest middle school nonfiction works.
