Montclair State University EMS Offers the Following American Heart Association CPR/First Aid Classes on Campus:
American Heart Association HeartSaver CPR/AED Class: This course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements. Class fees and duration are as follows.
- Adult + Child + Infant CPR/AED: $70.00. Class length, 3 hours
AHA HeartSaver First Aid Blended Learning Course: This course is designed for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a first aid course completion card to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements. Complete the following steps to obtain First Aid certification:
- Step 1: Purchase and complete the online First Aid course at Heartsaver® First Aid Online | AHA. The Heartsaver First Aid blended learning course is designed to teach students the cognitive information needed for first aid training. Cost: $16.00.
- Step 2: Forward proof of completion of the online class to ems@montclair.edu and request a hands-on skills session with one of our AHA Instructors. You will be contacted with a payment link for the skills session. Cost: $40.00.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS): This course is designed for healthcare professionals or first responders (law enforcement, EMTs, etc.). The class fee is $100.00 and is approximately 3.5-4 hours long. To inquire about a BLS class, please email ems@montclair.edu.
American Heart Association BLS Refresher: This course requires a current, non-expired AHA BLS card. The course fee is $85.00 and is approximately 2.75 hours long. To inquire about a BLS Refresher class, please email ems@montclair.edu.
Narcan/Overdose Awareness: Available upon request.
Stop the Bleed (Bleeding Control): Available upon request.
