According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, “Employment of postsecondary education administrators is projected to grow 8 percent from 2020 to 2030, about as fast as the average for all occupations. About 14,500 openings for postsecondary education administrators are projected each year, on average, over the decade. Many of those openings are expected to result from the need to replace workers who transfer to different occupations or exit the labor force, such as to retire.” The Department of Labor and Workforce reported that, since April 2020, the state of New Jersey has recovered 722,500 total nonfarm employment, or about 99 percent, of all public and private sector job losses caused by the pandemic.
The median annual wage in 2021 for postsecondary education administrators was $76,050 nationally and $90,480 in the state of New Jersey.
