The Department of Mathematical Sciences invites you to participate in the 5th Annual Physics and Art Photo Contest. Any photographs on themes at the intersection of arts and science are acceptable. A brief write-up describing the picture and its motivations is also requested. You can provide as many entries as you wish. The deadline for submission is April 11th 2014. Selected photographs will be chosen for the exhibition which will be held on May 2nd, 2014 at University Hall in conjunction with the Showcase for Teaching and Learning organized by the Research Academy for University Learning at MSU. An interdisciplinary panel of judges will select the top three photographs who will receive awards at the event. The entries will be evaluated on the quality of the picture and the accompanying essays.
Checklist for Submission
- 8×10 print of your photograph.
- 1 page typed write-up (times,12pt, double spaced) about the photograph. The essay should discuss the motivation, as well as art-science connection in the image.
- Submit an electronic version of the image in any standard format to Dr. Ashwin Vaidya (vaidyaa@montclair.edu).
- The deadline for the submissions is Friday, April 11th by 5pm.
