Janet Koehnke, Professor and Chair of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders and a fellow of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) was elected Vice President for Academic Affairs in Audiology. She will serve a three-year term which begins January 1, 2017. As the VP she will be a member of the Board of Directors of ASHA. ASHA is the national professional, scientific and credentialing association for 186,000 members and affiliates who are audiologists, speech-language pathologists, speech, language and hearing scientists, audiology and speech-language pathology support personnel and students.  Among her many responsibilities as Vice-President she will be initiate appropriate recommendations for actions to advance undergraduate and graduate education in audiology, and encourage and promote doctoral studies for both clinical and research careers in audiology. In addition she will serve as Board liaison to the Committee of Chairs for Standards and Ethics, and the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology among many others.
