Sam Fox, a third year student in the Audiology Doctoral program has been selected to attend a special conference this July given by the Oticon Corporation in Denmark. Four students from the 72 audiology doctoral programs in the United States were chosen by Oticon to attend the Eriksholm Summer Camp at the Eriksholm Research Institute approximately 20 miles north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The Research Centre was founded in 1977 to investigate the practical needs of people with hearing loss in order to improve hearing aids. The purpose of the summer camp at Eriksholm is to "create a learning environment for young audiologists to work together in a partnership of enthusiasm and experience within the framework of Oticon’s philosophy." In addition to the four US students there will be about 50 others at the camp from countries around the world.
