Red Sauce, Episode #2: Laico’s, Jersey City

The Coccia Institute for the Italian Experience in America presented the second episode of Red Sauce: An Italian American Culinary Journey, a docuseries produced in collaboration with the School of Communication & Media at Montclair State University on Monday, March 4th at 6pm in the School of Communication & Media Presentation Hall.

This episode features Laico’s located in Jersey City, NJ. Opened in 1972, many locals refer to Laico’s as one of the iconic “red sauce” joints in the area, in which it is one of the only ones that remains. After more than 50 years in business, Laico’s never lost its touch, especially with their renowned chicken parm dish and the mention of their eggplant rollatini in the NY Eater’s 15 Best Dishes of 2022.

Attendees watched the debut of the new episode over food catered by Laico’s themselves, and later engaged in a lively Q&A session with the producers of the episode.
