REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN for “Teaching Italian Symposium/Workshops XIV – Intercultural Communicative Citizenship in the Italian Classroom”–the 14th annual professional development program organized by the Coccia Institute for the Italian Experience in America and Prof.ssa Enza Antenos, Dept. of World Languages & Cultures, at Montclair State University. The Institute’s signature event will be conducted virtually via Zoom on FRIDAY, OCT. 22nd from 3:00pm-6:00pm*. Due to the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Symposium will be held completely free of charge. The annual unveiling of the national Coccia-Inserra Award for Excellence and Innovation in the Teaching of Italian (K-12) will be presented on this occasion.
*The abbreviated edition of the symposium will provide four (4) professional development credits.
Please note: In order to receive the Professional Development Certificate, participants must stay the full duration of the Symposium. Certificates will not be issued if an individual leaves the Zoom meeting early or misses a large proportion of the event. Registrants MUST update their Zoom to the latest version for the optimal experience.
We are looking forward to welcoming back past attendees and greeting new members of the teaching community!
If any questions arise, please do not hesitate to contact Mark Rotella, the Director of the Coccia Institute for the Italian Experience in America, at rotellam@montclair.edu or Cristina Latino, Program Associate of the Coccia Institute, at coccia-assistant@montclair.edu.
