Spring 2022 Events
With a return to an in-person academic year, the Coccia Institute was thrilled to present our cultural programming events ranging in various formats, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid modalities.
The Spring 2022 semester marked a return of the annual Italian Scholarships and Awards Ceremony for the first time since 2019, with special remarks delivered by Montclair State University’s new President, Jonathan Koppell, and a ravishing performance from a selection of Italian operas by Courtney San Martin of the John J. Cali School of Music. The Coccia Institute also hosted the on-campus premiere screening of Potentially Dangerous: When it Was a Crime to be Italian, directed by Zach Baliva. The end of the academic year was marked with various collaborations with the Montclair Literary Festival, including a lively discussion with Sophie Minchilli, author of The Sweetness of Doing Nothing, and Elizabeth Minchilli, author of The Italian Table.
