Fall 2021 Events
With a return to an in-person academic year, the Coccia Institute was thrilled to present our cultural programming events ranging in various formats, including in-person, virtual, and hybrid modalities.
This Fall semester marked the launch of our Coccia Institute Lecture Series, where we also formulated a new partnership with the Montclair Literary Festival in our joint collaboration presenting a talk with Stevie Van Zandt, former actor on the Sopranos (Silvio Dante) and Bruce Springsteen’s E. Street Band guitarist. We also hosted lively book presentations with Dean Anthony Tamburri of the Calandra Institute and children’s book author, Dan Yaccarino. The fourteenth annual Teaching Italian Symposium was also held in an accomodating online format, and this year’s theme focused on incorporating cultural self-awareness and intercultural communication in an inclusive learning environment.
