Clean Energy and Sustainability Analytics Center at Montclair State University is pleased to announce the continued NJ Wind Institute Fellowship program at Montclair State University in collaboration with the New Jersey Economic Development Agency. The NJ Wind Institute Fellowship program is designed to encourage and support student research in topics that further the development of offshore wind and build student and faculty advisor expertise in offshore wind research and innovation in the state of New Jersey.
2024-25 Applications Now Open
Application Deadline 2024-25: May 10, 2024
Montclair State University serves as one of four higher education institutions – Rutgers University, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Rowan University, Princeton University, Seton Hall University, Stockton University and Stevens Institute of Technology – to offer upper class undergraduates and graduates the opportunity to conduct paid, independent research related to offshore wind for the entirety of a year. The program will run September 1, 2024 – May 31, 2025.
Application Requirements
- Statement of Research Interest in Offshore Wind (500 words)
- One reference that will submit a letter of recommendation or an assessment.

- Receive a $15,000 stipend for research and related expenses
- Work under the mentorship of a Montclair State-University faculty mentor for the duration of a year
- Gain industry knowledge through monthly cohort trainings, guest lecturers, site visits, and other activities
- Present research findings at an April 2024 Symposium to an audience of government, academic, and industry experts
- Network with leaders in the offshore wind industry and gain exposure to career opportunities

- Rising Juniors and Seniors only
- Open to all fields of study ranging from sciences, business, humanities and social sciences
- Individuals from historically underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply
- Receive a $30,000 fellowship stipend and tuition for research and related expenses
- Work under the mentorship of a Montclair State-University faculty mentor for the duration of a year
- Gain industry knowledge through monthly cohort trainings, guest lecturers, site visits, and other activities
- Present research findings at an April 2024 Symposium to an audience of government, academic, and industry experts
- Network with leaders in the offshore wind industry and gain exposure to career opportunities
