Two Awards for Jason M. Williams

Jason M. Williams, assistant professor in the Department of Justice Studies, received two awards during the annual meeting of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. He received a dedicated service award and the Rosemary L. Gido Research Honorum from the Minority and Women’s Section of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.
Williams is an activist scholar and his research focuses on critical policing, race, social control, and criminal justice policy. He is currently conducting on-the-ground critical ethnographic research in Ferguson, Missouri and Baltimore, Maryland following the deaths of Michael Brown and Freddie Gray.
