The Center for the Digital Humanities is hosting the 2018 Spring Digital Humanities Day.

The day’s events will include presentations, productive discussions, and open Lab sessions. Refreshments will be served throughout the day.

Open Lab

10:00am to 11:00am

Come to Schmitt Hall 135 and learn about our resource lab, meet some of the support team, and see what type of work we do at the Center for the Digital Humanities. We encourage those interested in working with the Center to stop by and see how we could assist you in your digital humanities project

Learn About the Digital Humanities

11:00am to 12:00pm

With 817 different definitions of digital humanities at https://whatisdigitalhumanities.com/, this growing field of interest has sparked both interest and controversy.  This moderated conversation will briefly review how we got where we are today with the Digital Humanities and show examples of digital humanities projects. There will also be time for Q&A.

An Introduction to GIS?

This guided conversation will include a brief introduction to what geographic information systems are, review of few of the more popular applications, and leave plenty of time for Q&A.
