ALL WELCOME

Join the CHSS Center for the Digital Humanities for a lively conversation on a recent article that is getting a lot of publicity. “The Digital-Humanities Bust” (see attached link below) by Timothy Brennan is provocative, and we’re going to talk about it!

November’s Reading Group will take place on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 in the CHSS Center for the Digital Humanities, Schmitt Hall 135, from 3pm to 4pm

This event is open to ALL FACULTY AND STUDENTS.

Check out the short article and join us for an informal and thought provoking conversation!

In addition to the article by Timothy Brennan, we’ve added a rebuttal article titled, “There Is No Such Thing as ‘the Digital Humanities” by Dr. Eric Weiskott, Assistant Professor of English at Boston College (see attached link below). It is optional reading material but a good way to hear both sides of the argument.

Other optional reading materials include “Digital Is Not the Opposite of Humanities” by Sarah E. Bond, Hoyt Long, and Ted Underwood from The Chronicle of Higher Education (1) and “Why is Digital Humanities?” by Sarah Catherine Stanley (2) (see attached links below).
