- General/Cross-Disciplinary
Request for Proposals: Reducing Marine Plastic Pollution • National Geographic Society • Full Proposal • ORSP Deadline: January 4, 2019 • Supports projects that measurably reduce plastic pollution before it reaches the ocean. The funder seeks conservationists, educators, researchers, storytellers, and technologists who develop or pilot solutions that actively stop or reduce the stream of pollution into waterways, including by effecting behavior change in key stakeholders.
- Earth and Environmental Studies
Junior Faculty-Initiated Projects • New Jersey Water Resources Research Institute • Full Proposal • ORSP Deadline: November 23, 2018 • Supports adequate staff and research costs for a major study. The investigator should indicate how the funding will act as a “seed grant” to spur the development of a larger research program on water resource problems and what other sources of funding may be available or may be sought to continue the research. All projects are selected based on their relevance to New Jersey’s water resources.
Graduate Student Grants-In-Aid • New Jersey Water Resources Research Institute • Full Proposal • ORSP Deadline: November 23, 2018 • Supports proposals that allow graduate students to pursue research that is not supported by other grant funds, or to carry out preliminary research to develop fundable thesis projects.
- Arts and Humanities
Digital Humanities Advancement Grants • National Endowment for the Humanities • Full Proposal • ORSP Deadline: January 10, 2019 • Supports digital projects throughout their lifecycles, from early start-up phases through implementation and long-term sustainability. Experimentation, reuse, and extensibility are hallmarks of this program, leading to innovative work that can scale to enhance scholarly research, teaching, and public programming in the humanities.
