David Talaga receives a 1-year R56 Bridging Award of $283,164 from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke for his proposal ‘Interfacially activated aggregation of alpha-synuclein’. The 1-year bridging award will allow Dr. Talaga to gather additional data in support of his R01 application to study the aggregation of proteins on surfaces, which is relevant to the formation of plaque in cells that may lead to Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease.
