Montclair State University’s Teacher Education Program now has a number of Future Teachers of Color grant opportunities for students who qualify!
This amazing opportunity, made possible by a New Jersey Department of Education grant, will provide you with the following:
- One-on-one support from faculty, students and higher education professionals throughout your entire program
- Mentoring from faculty who are renowned in their field and want to see you succeed
- Individualized admission and academic advisement
- Workshops and tutoring in such areas as study skills, test preparation, cultural and social justice, and more
- Eligibility to be considered for your place in The Newark Teacher Project which includes:
- Supportive small cohort of peers
- Paid summer experience in Newark communities
- Carefully selected mentors and faculty
- Specialized teaching seminars with a focus on social and racial justice
- A financial stipend with the commitment of teaching in Newark Public Schools
- Technology resources for studying and your future classroom
- Support in your transition to your own classroom
