Fall 2023 Writing Workshops

The Center for Writing Excellence will provide a series of online workshops to help develop writing skills you can use now and in the future. Zoom with us on Wednesdays at 2:00pm: https://montclair.zoom.us/j/89779531501.
Workshops are 45 minutes long and do not require advance preparation. All students, faculty, staff, and alumni are welcome to attend.

Introduction to MLA style (9th edition)
Wednesday, November 8, 2:00pm
This overview will help familiarize you with MLA citations—an important part of academic writing in areas of the humanities such as English, Foreign Language and Literatures, Literary Criticism, and Cultural Studies. We will also review updates included in the 9th edition. Bring your Works Cited pages and questions for extra help.

Writing Effective Email

Whether writing to your professor, dean, or employer, how you present your request can affect the outcome. Strong email writing skills are equally important in the workplace where they set you apart from other employees and help you succeed in your career. Our Writing Effective Email workshop will provide strategies for this essential form of writing.
